Michigan BJJ Championships 1/30/10

We had some great performances this past Saturday in Michigan. In the Purple belt adult, James "PW" Becker made his debut. James took second barely losing on points as he had his opponent on the run for the last two minutes and had him wrapped up in a bow and arrow choke as time expired. Rocco DeTillio was absolutely perfect in the adult Blue Belt taking the gold medal, once again not getting scored upon and dominating his opponents with heavy top pressure and relentless guard passing. In the white belt division we had some great performances, Chris Bonezzi submitted all of his opponents to take the gold in the gi and took the bronze in the no-gi intermediate division. Eric "little becker", did a great job in the gi but came up short on points, he later came back and took gold in the no-gi division with little resistance. Great job guys and congrats on the medals!

KIDS CLASSES STARTING FEBRUARY 3RD @ 6PM!

CALL OR EMAIL FOR MORE INFO!

Monday 1/25

Today we warmed up with some takedowns. First we started with the double leg and then we hit the ground with a choke attack from the closed guard. After the choke attack, we worked a scissor sweep from the closed guard when your opponent counters the choke by placing one arm on your bicep to block you from choking.

Wednsday Night Training

Tonight we had a fun beginners night. We learned how to defend the guard pass with the butterfly hooks in when your opponent tries to clamp you down and jump over the butterfly guard and then we learned an armdrag from the butterfly guard. After this we played king of the hill starting from the butterfly position so everyone could become more familiar with the position from top and bottom. It was a great class! Here is a short video.
